This series was created during a six-week study abroad program in Italy. Nearly every day was filled with visiting historical and prominent art spaces while immersed in the culture of Italian life. I noticed how these quiet places of contemplation juxtaposed with the lively Italians that exist among them. I see these ancient statues and artworks as silent guardians that watch over the daily celebrations and lives of people and sought to use street photography as a way to emulate their perspective.
