As a figurative painter, I am compelled to capture the spirit and personality of individuals. These portraits present artists in the midst of their creative development. The dedication and determination of this diverse set of individuals in achieving their dreams have been incredibly inspirational. Artist careers are uncertain and often an under-appreciated endeavor, but being surrounded by these driven individuals encourages me to constantly improve myself. This set of works is a sort of contemporary pantheon: altarpieces of talented creatives that motivate me to become a better artist as I watch them succeed.
